What is a Balint Group?
Saturday Oct 28th, 2017
10 AM – 12 PM
Founded by psychoanalyst, Michael Balint, these groups have become an internationally valued method of case consultation. Balint groups unpack transference and countertransference dynamics in the treatment relationship non-intrusively. By speculating about both therapist and patient, participants reflect on potential somatic and affective phenomena. Our presentation will include direct experience with a Balint group followed by discussion about psychoanalytic implications.
