Course Description

This course offers a critical review of the work of Donald Winnicott, with a focus on his contributions to clinical theory and practice. We will also discuss the important contributions of his wife, Clare Winnicott.

Dates and Times: 6 Wednesdays, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm, on March 11, 18, 25, April 1, 15, 22.

Location: COR Meeting Room

Fees: $270

Class Size: Minimum of 5 and maximum of 10 participants. 

Participation: In-person only.

Scholarships Available: Yes, for COR members.

CEUs: 1.5 for each attended class, 9 total.


Instructors

 

Anna M. Delacroix, MA, LMHC, maintains a private practice in Seattle where she sees adults in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. She received her M.A. in counseling from Bastyr University, completed the two-year certificate program in contemporary perspectives on psychoanalytic treatment at the Northwest Center for Psychoanalysis, and is currently a senior candidate at the Northwestern Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. A member the Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study, Seattle Psychoanalytic Society and Institute, and the Center for Object Relations, she has taught object relations classes at SPSI and NPSI.

Katherine Weissbourd, PhD, PsyA, was awarded her doctorate in clinical psychology from Northwestern University in 1978. She is the author of Growing Up in the James Family (1985) a study of Henry James, Sr. and his influence on his son William James. In 2009, she received her certificate in psychoanalysis from the Northwest Center for Psychoanalysis in Seattle, and she is a training and supervising analyst on the faculty of the Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles. Kathy teaches on trauma and has given talks at the Frye Art Institute and Seattle University on the unconscious, feminism, and art in the late 19th century. She also has presented on the connection between relational psychoanalysis and American Pragmatism. Kathy is a psychologist in private practice with adults in Seattle.

Missed classes, seminars, events are not eligible for partial refunds. Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the first class are eligible for a full refund, less a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations made less than 30 days in advance of the first session are nonrefundable and non-transferable unless COR is able to fill your spot with another registrant. Cancellations made on or after the start of the first session are 100% non-refundable and nontransferable. In the event of an emergency, each situation will be considered.

For purchasing an installment plan, a “Free Trial” means there will be a delay of the charge until class begins. The sign up fee is an initial charge to secure your place within the class.
