Feb 6th, 2021
10am-12pm, Online Via Zoom
How do we get to the heart of the matter in psychotherapy? How do we avoid falling for one trap/distraction after another? How can a therapist develop the art of “presiding” (Meltzer) over a creative process grounded in the transference? How can a therapist help to illuminate the feelings emerging within the patient’s dreamlife? Franco Scabbiolo joins Seth Aichele in discussing case material from a twice-weekly, two-and-a-half-year process, guided by the essentially emotional, aesthetic, and creative psychoanalytic compass. They traverse the claustrophobic, partial worlds of adaptation, confusion, delusion, & abandonment in search of the fountainhead of life: what Franco calls “the feelings of the feelings.”
